Production workflows

Six scenarios, each explained end to end

See what you provide, what the tool handles automatically, and what it delivers. You do not need to memorize commands to use any workflow.

A capability map, not an operations manual

Give an agent your assets, outcome, and preferences. The agent selects the workflow, model, dimensions, cost strategy, and processing steps, then runs the CLI and reports the result.

01

Batch game UI reskinning

For large sets of small buttons, icons, props, and character slices, with cost optimization that preserves production usability.

Example request for your agent

Restyle ./old-ui as paper-cut fantasy. Preserve transparency, filenames, and every size, with cost as the priority.

You provide

The source asset folder, target art direction, transparency requirements, and a cost, balanced, or quality preference. Model, size, and quality can also be fixed explicitly.

Delivered result

A drop-in reskinned asset tree with matching filenames and dimensions, plus a resumable manifest and actual credit record.

The tool handles

  1. 1Scan the tree and record each relative path, pixel size, format, alpha channel, and content fingerprint.
  2. 2Choose the cost strategy for the job, use lower-cost settings for small assets, and reversibly pack compatible files into transparent atlases.
  3. 3Request transparent output first, call background removal only for opaque results, then split, crop, and restore the original tree and dimensions.
02

Ecommerce image localization

For localizing listing images, detail slices, and campaign creatives while protecting the product and brand system.

Example request for your agent

Translate the Chinese listing images in ./listings into English. Keep brand names, products, layout, and original dimensions unchanged.

You provide

Images or a folder, the target language, protected brand terms and legal marks, and optional localization direction.

Delivered result

A localized image tree ready for operations or design review, with task and failure reports retained.

The tool handles

  1. 1Create a per-image manifest with the original size, filename, and folder so the scope can be reviewed before execution.
  2. 2Translate visible copy while constraining the product, logo, typographic hierarchy, colors, spacing, and brand terms that must remain untouched.
  3. 3Write results to the original dimensions and tree, resume only unfinished work, and report failures and actual charges separately.
03

Batch product imagery

For expanding approved product references into listing images, campaign scenes, and organized visual variants.

Example request for your agent

Use the products in ./products to create three natural-light home scenes each. Do not change product shape, labels, logos, or colors.

You provide

Product references, scene or campaign direction, variants per product, and optional model, aspect ratio, dimensions, or credit ceiling.

Delivered result

Multiple listing or lifestyle images organized by product, ready for selection, publishing, or final design polish.

The tool handles

  1. 1Treat each source image as the product identity reference and assign an independent task and stable retry key to prevent duplicate charges.
  2. 2Create the requested variants while constraining product shape, material, label, logo, color, and recognizability.
  3. 3Normalize framing and output names, then organize each product's variants, task status, and credit record in the delivery folder.
04

Picture-book illustration

For turning a paginated script into a continuous set of illustrations with stable characters and art direction.

Example request for your agent

Illustrate pages.json as a warm children's book, using character-sheet.png and keeping character appearance and clothing consistent.

You provide

A JSON, JSONL, or paragraph-separated text script, character sheets or other references, and the shared style, size, and model preferences.

Delivered result

A reading-order set of picture-book illustrations with page-level status, task, and credit records.

The tool handles

  1. 1Parse pages, scenes, or text blocks into page-level tasks and verify that every item has an actionable scene description.
  2. 2Reuse character references and a shared art direction on every page to preserve identity, clothing, and visual language.
  3. 3Generate stable page-numbered files and save progress continuously, so failed pages can be retried without touching completed work.
05

Novel illustration

For batch narrative art from chapters or scene scripts, with continuity across people, periods, and locations.

Example request for your agent

Create cinematic ink-wash art for each key scene in scenes.jsonl. Reuse character and location references, with no titles or watermarks.

You provide

A chapter, scene, or paragraph-separated script, character and location references, plus period, mood, style, and framing requirements.

Delivered result

Story-ordered atmospheric illustrations for chapter openers, promotion, or downstream layout.

The tool handles

  1. 1Split chapters, scenes, or text blocks into independent illustration tasks with ordered output names.
  2. 2Reuse people and location references in each scene while constraining identity, period detail, and the overall narrative tone.
  3. 3Generate in batches and persist progress, resume from unfinished scenes, and selectively retry failures.
06

Batch style transfer

For moving one image or a complete asset tree into a unified visual style while preserving content and structure.

Example request for your agent

Move ./assets into a retro arcade style without changing subjects, composition, readable content, or object count.

You provide

One image or a full directory, the target style, and any subjects, copy, composition, or geometry that must remain fixed.

Delivered result

A consistently restyled tree that maps directly to the source assets, with complete resume and failure records.

The tool handles

  1. 1Recursively scan the input and record paths, dimensions, formats, and content fingerprints in a manifest.
  2. 2Transfer each image while constraining subject, composition, crop, readable content, geometry, and object count.
  3. 3Restore original dimensions, formats, filenames, and folders, then retry only failed or unfinished items.

Resumable batching

An inspectable production process, not a black-box loop

Each item persists its idempotency key, state, outputs, and actual credits. Resume unfinished work without regenerating successful items.

  1. 1Scan inputs and record relative paths, pixel dimensions, formats, alpha, and SHA-256.
  2. 2Create a reviewable manifest; game assets can be reversibly packed into transparent atlases.
  3. 3Run rate-safe concurrent generation, editing, or background removal with per-item settlement.
  4. 4Download, crop, split, and restore exact dimensions and trees while reporting failed items.

Strategy guide

Compare the plan before you run it

Choose the preference that should guide automatic model, size, quality, atlas, and background decisions. Explicit flags still take precedence.

Cost first

Use the cheapest compatible route and small-asset settings. Best for exploration and large batches.

imgent batch game-reskin ./old-ui --strategy cost

Balanced default

Keep a dependable model while lowering quality only when the source is small and safe to restore.

imgent batch game-reskin ./old-ui --strategy balanced

Quality first

Prefer high-quality-capable models and settings when fidelity matters more than spend.

imgent batch game-reskin ./old-ui --strategy quality

Copy a natural-language request

Give this request to your agent; it will inspect the assets, quote the batch, choose compatible routes, and report the actual savings.

Restyle ./old-ui as paper-cut fantasy. Keep every filename and original dimension. Preserve transparent assets, keep background panels intact, optimize for balanced cost, quote the whole batch first, and resume safely if interrupted.

Cost-aware execution

The CLI chooses the smallest safe plan

The agent can optimize for cost, quality, or a balance. The manifest records the decision, while explicit model and output settings remain authoritative.

Preview before spending

Batch quote uses the server's current model and operation prices, includes worst-case background removal, and can enforce a hard --max-credits ceiling before generation starts.

Reuse instead of regenerating

Identical inputs are grouped, shared references upload once, and completed generation files are reused on resume so retries do not create a second billable task.

Transparency only when needed

Game assets request native transparency first. The CLI checks real pixels, optionally tries local rembg, and only then falls back to the hosted remover for opaque results.

One Skill for the agents you use

Any tool with local terminal access can use the same JSON contract and safe authentication flow. The installer writes project or user-level Skill directories.

imgent skill install --target all

Clear credits, safe retries

Generation and operations use Imgent credits. Manifests retain tasks and actual charges; completed items are not rerun, and failed server tasks release reservations.

Start with three commands

npm install --global https://imgent.app/downloads/imgent-cli-0.4.0.tgz
imgent login
imgent whoami --json

Versioning and update notices

The CLI silently checks the release manifest once per day and only notifies when a new version exists. Manual checks and confirmed installs are available too.
